You’ve been submitting applications but getting no answers. You’re not sure why but you’ve updated your resume twice. Just as time changes so does the way recruiters source resumes does too. It’s no longer a pile of sitting on a desk that a recruiter has to go through. We now use systems that spot key words related to that particular position and the skill set needed.

The HR Agent came about to help college graduates start a career after college which is something I struggled immensely with right out of college. Upon graduation I knew my fairytale life was just beginning and the picture perfect life in my head was going to be my new reality. I knew life would be a breeze for me because I took the right path. I took the path instructed for me and passed with flying colors. All the late-night study sessions, working three jobs, and long exam weeks were over and success was right over the horizon. So I thought, but boy was I wrong.

I created my resume with the help of my counselors and everything was supposed to fall in place from there. Little did I know that isn’t how it works if you don’t know the secrets to the trade. After graduation things were moving slow so I moved home for a little extra support during my job search. Nothing was happening and I could not understand why I received no calls and no interviews. Frustrated and confused, I finally connected with someone in the HR field to get better insight on what I was doing wrong. She explained, “no one is looking for your resume to search for key words or potential. It’s about a digital algorithm and page structuring.” I had to make my resume “hire-proof.” I had to have more of the key words for my industry and the standard resume structure those in my industry used so out of thousands of resumes mine would get noticed. I had to be the stack of hay, not the needle in the haystack.

Armed with this information I contacted more industry professionals and recruiters to learn their key points, and viewed resume structures for multiple industries, and interviewed those recently hired for their dream jobs. I developed a system, and begin testing it immediately to help others avoid what I had experienced. I became my first client and IT WORKED! It really worked so I found 8 more people who were struggling as well finding jobs and it worked for them as well. I created a system that aligned with the current technology to boost the visibility of my clients. Astonished and amazed with my new system The HR Agent was born.
